# 79 - Fun weekend
My body feels sore, but that's to be expected from an active Saturday
So active, I cycled about 5k twice, swam for an hour, and ran for 4.8k.
Here's a quick summary of how the larger part of the day was spent; at DataFest Africa 2024, for Day 3.
For the parts that are not captured in that note,
- I started the morning cycling for 6k, at an impressive–if i may say so myself–pace of 04:34 min/km.
- After that, I spent the time making about 12 takes for my video essay, part of my application to MIT's Emerging Talent program. I couldn't use any of the takes, so I had to make sure I was back early enough to reshoot one.
- I did leave DataFest early, during Fisayo Fosudo's and John Dada's panel session. Shot two more takes and settled with just cutting out some fumblings from the second take with CapCut.
- Then it was off to the road. I ran 4.8k and just about gassed out at the end of it. Even though it was at a pace of 6:29 min/km, I am proud of the fact that I pushed through the pain on that last lap.
- I swam for a bit. At least, my current form of short distances as I run out of breath. It is worthy of note that I can now float or at least swim close enough to the surface to repeatedly come up for air. I don't have any form with that though. Plus I also need to work on my freestyle. Argh. I just need a tutor.
- Dried off for a bit and took off on another ride back home. About 4.6km at a pace of 04:49 min/km. I can't wait to get to plain uninterrupted grounds to see how fast I can cycle a kilometer, and for how long I can keep that speed.
Woof. What a day!
I'm grateful for the strength and opportunity I have to be this active. I thank God for health.
While I haven't read my Bible and book today, I'd say...
Cheers
